RFID systems have two elements; a reader and a card with an RFID microchip.
In order for an RFID Card to be read the reader emits a small RFID signal that activates the microchip in the card and this activation tells the card to share it's info with the card reader.
The card transmits 3 different elements essential to complete the transaction;
1 - credit card number
2 - expiration date
3 - card holder name
4 - unique identification number (UID)
The first 3 elements are very common but few consumers know what the UID is.
It's an encrypted code of numbers at various lengths up to 80 bit (digits). This is not your standard PIN code - in fact it would take a hacker attempting a "brute force attack" by guessing the password up to 15,000 years to crack the code for one transaction.
This is why RFID itself is very very safe yet consumer demand for protective sleeves and RFID wallet continues to grow.
The Mighty Card is an RFID blocking card that interferes with the signals and scrambles them making them impossible to read.
This is a far more effective technology than the thin protection that sleeves and RFID wallets can offer. If you're still not convinced of the safety of RFID cards you can get a Mighty Card for only $3 and use it in any wallet you want. It doesn't require any batteries and doesn't break the bank to have RFID protection.
